ChatGPT, a popular AI chatbot, is experiencing disruptions. Users are unable to chat or access their history. OpenAI hasn’t acknowledged the outage, but Downdetector shows a surge in reports exceeding 3,000.
According to Downdetector, 89% of outages are related to ChatGPT, 10% to the website, and 1% to OpenAI’s APIs.
Users report issues accessing chatgpt.com and chat.com, while others say the website opens but ChatGPT doesn’t respond to queries. One Downdetector user reported a “web server reported a bad gateway error” message. ChatGPT’s mobile apps are also unresponsive.
Outages are common for internet services, but ChatGPT has experienced frequent downtimes in recent weeks, including a major outage in the US in December that also impacted other OpenAI services.
